# Alastair Carew-Cox: Architectural Photography
Alastair Carew-Cox is an award-winning architectural photographer based in Worcestershire, serving leading architectural practices, construction companies and cultural institutions across the UK. His specialisation in digital tilt and shift photography enables him to correct perspective distortions, presenting buildings in their most compelling form.
With a BA Honours degree in Visual Communications and extensive experience in large-format plate camera work, Carew-Cox brings both technical mastery and genuine architectural sensitivity to his commissions. He works primarily with Canon 5DSR equipment fitted with specialist tilt and shift lenses, allowing him to capture complex building geometry with precision.
What distinguishes his practice is a dual expertise: architectural documentation of building services, retail spaces, healthcare facilities and educational institutions sits alongside his internationally recognised work photographing stained glass. His passion for ecclesiastical glass has resulted in three published books on Pre-Raphaelite stained glass, with his most recent volume, *Saints & Symbols*, released in January 2021. His work has been exhibited throughout Europe and Japan, whilst his reputation extends to Royal Mail commissioning three of his stained-glass images for the 2020 Christmas stamp issue.
Beyond commissioned work, Carew-Cox has developed a product line of Arts & Crafts and Pre-Raphaelite greetings cards printed on sustainable Woodland Trust paper, reflecting his commitment to environmental responsibility. His photographs have featured extensively in professional publications, establishing him as a thought leader in architectural and ecclesiastical imagery.
